Astoria Crest Motel Reviews

We love our guests! We appreciate all of the great comments our guests have given over the years. Here is a sample of Astoria Crest Motel Reviews.

The view!! (5 Star Review)
I mean, people! The 180 degree view of the Columbia River with cargo ships and Coast Guard vessels, combined with the echoes of barking sea lions down below in Astoria make this modest hotel a true find. Our room was completely remodeled and comfortable with a deck to sit on while enjoying the vista. The hot tub was clean and the breakfast simple. Need a room on the first floor, no problem, views there as well. Not all rooms are view rooms so inquire before booking. Probably the only con to this property is the the decks are right next to each other. Still, we would come back in a heartbeat.

Great! Affordable rates! (5 Star Review)
I stayed here once before when I was on my own, and booked the most economic room with no view which was just fine. This last time, my husband and I stayed in a king bed room on the first floor which offered a view, and sliding glass door onto the grass. We loved it! We loved walking out of our room and into the hot tub, overlooking Astoria. We traveled all over on our honeymoon, but both of us said we loved staying at Astoria Crest Motel, because it was so simple and easy. Great service, affordable prices. hot tub, breakfast included! What’s not to like?!? I also appreciated the fact that is the last, and only family owned, locally owned, independent hotel in Astoria. Bonus! Great work , you guys! We loved our stay and will return!

The BEST Motel we stayed in on our USA Road Trip (5 Star Review)
Room #224 – Suite with water view If you are looking for peace, quietness and tranquility – look no further. Excellent friendly service. Everything in the room worked well. The room was spotlessly clean. The view over the Columbia river is to die for. Staying here made our 2 month holiday.

Wonderful Rooms – Great Views of Columbia River (5 Star Review)
We were assigned balcony rooms facing the Columbia River. The rooms were very nice and very quiet and very clean. the balconies had chairs so we could sit outside. Management provided box fans in each room. The breakfast was fine, the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Excellent Experiance!! (5 Star Review)
The Astoria Crest Motel is a real treat to visit. The rooms are spotless, the view of the Columbia river is outstanding, and the folks that own and operate the facility are wonderful, as is the folks that run the place !! The view from the hot tub is amazing, and everything is “top shelf”!! This place is a bargain, and our group (6 couples) were ALL impressed with the accommodations. It’s was the highlight of our coastal on places to stay!!

Great Place to Stay (5 Star Review)
Pleasant surprise. Further from downtown than I realized, was unsure what the quality would be given affordability. Nice renovation done. Room small but pet-friendly, very clean, and had a great view of trees and bushes (not the parking lot). Other rooms have amazing river views. Outdoor hot tub overlooks the Columbia River. Friendly, helpful staff. Plan to return!

Very Excellent! (5 Star Review)
This is a very nice option just outside of town. I used to stay here years ago and my first return visit was excellent. First, Brittany Evans the manager was exceedingly friendly, courteous and welcoming. Due to a mix up on our reservation we were upgraded to one of the nicest rooms with a wonderful view. Their remodeling efforts really show! An outdoor salt water hot tub overlooks the Columbia River and in the morning they serve a very nice breakfast! All of the staff is friendly – I definitely plan to return!

First time Sturgeon Fishing (5 Star Review)
We got the double queen suite. upstairs. first impression, nice and clean! had good amenities, but nothing outrageous, keeping the price down. We appreciated that. The view was world class! Not far from downtown, but not really walkable. I would stay again.

This time, five dots! (5 Star Review)
This was my second stay here, with a pet. I booked directly at the last minute and even though there is just one of me, when I asked for a less expensive room, I was given a family room with separate bedroom. No problem the price was very fair and my pet and I had lots of room! Total cost including taxes and $15 pet fee was just over $85. I did not expect a view, but actually there was a sliver of one. So that was a pleasant little added bonus 🙂 Everything was very clean, and the micro & fridge were nice to have. Breakfast is a decent expanded Continental. In reading some of the more recent reviews, I don’t quite understand some of them. This is a good older motel, well maintained with some newer touches, with a great view, at an *excellent* price for the Oregon coast! …

Serenity and views (5 Star Review)
This is an old-fashioned place, away from the congestion that is downtown Astoria. It suited us perfectly – the room was large and comfortable, with a nice balcony where we could sit and watch the ships and boats on the Columbia. Sunsets were a plus. The breakfast was the usual, but again here was the view, from the inside dining area or the big patio. The staff were friendly and efficient. I guess you could pay a lot more if you really need granite countertops.

What a hidden gem! (5 Star Review)
Remodeled and excellent view of Columbia River, with comfy new organic cotton mattresses! Only drawback was no hair dryer in room but I’m sure they were available in office, but I didn’t ask. Prices in August are high anywhere in Astoria.. $169 queen view wasn’t bad when looking at mostly $300. Off season much lower. Great breakfast and staff exceptionally nice. I would stay again without question!

Great motel (5 Star Review)
We are so glad we found this motel! It had a great hot tub with a beautiful view! We were able able to relax in the hot tub while we did our wash. The room was perfect, and we had a delicious breakfast. We recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

Lovely setting, beautiful view (5 Star Review)
First time at this motel. Kind of old fashioned but comfortable rooms, but that’s more than made for by the friendly staff, clean and tidy exterior and interior, good wifi, and beautiful views! (as everyone else has noted). Nice to sit outside my room and watch the sun go down, the fog roll in, and the large ships get piloted down the river. Would stay here again.

The VIEWS!! (5 Star Review)
My husband and I and two grandchildren stayed at the Astoria Crest on July 19. What a great property and so well maintained and updated. The staff was the best! Check in was easy. The breakfast attendant kept everything in order and spotless. The grounds are perfectly maintained and orderly. Ditto for the rooms. An old property but much better than many of the newer ones. It was quiet and peaceful. Ask for one of the rooms of the view of the river.
Donna S – Fredericksburg, Texas

Fantastic views and a friendly service (5 Star Review)
This is quite a basic motel, but really well done. The rooms were a bit dated but spotlessly clean and large. The views from the bedroom and the breakfast terrace are stunning. Help yourself to a generous breakfast, with friendly chit chat with other guests.

love this place…excellent value! (5 Star Review)
Stayed here with wife and three kids in July 2018. Superb value here…it’s an older hotel but meticulously kept…I spend about 30-40 nights a year in hotel rooms, and while this isn’t luxury, it is seriously well managed…I notice things like the quality of the caulking in bathtubs…and it is perfect here. Also, you get incredible views of the Columbia River…the sunsets are stunning. Again, not a luxury hotel, but a really great value for what we paid. I’d definitely stay here again.

Spectacular views, great experience. (5 Star Review)
My family and I stayed in Astoria recently for a few days too visit some family there.havung worked in The hospitality business and once being a housekeeper and a part of a professional cleaning business I must say.. The room was so spotless and clean. The view of the river was breath taking and the for the affordable price we were not disappointed! The hotel was also very quiet which is crazy because it was completely booked and 4th of July weekend. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Astoria, I know we will certainly be back the next time we are in town. Excellent!

Loved this motel! (5 Star Review)
This is a cozy, comfy clean motel with I’m a fantastic location! It is away from the traffic but a close drive to town. A great value, this family-owned motel had just what I needed for a little getaway. Refrigerator, microwave, great tv, comfy bed, coffee pot. In addition, there is a nice breakfast in the morning. Amazing view and clean property. I Will definitely go back!

Terrific Views in Astoria (5 Star Review)
We met my wife’s sister and her husband for a two-night stay at the Astoria Crest. The staff was friendly and most helpful with suggestiions for dining in Astoria. The view from our room had to be the best in Astoria! The room was clean the bed comfortable. If we’re ever in Astoria again, this will be our place to stay.

Gem and Tremendous Value (5 Star Review)
We spent the night at the Crest on a very busy weekend in Astoria and Seaside. We had not stayed there for about 20 years, as we usually rent a house for the entire family. Because we booked late, the Crest was the only place available. I must say that the new owners have made tremendous improvements! The mattress was so comfortable that we overslept! It was quiet and we had a beautiful view of the ships on the Columbia River. They also serve a nice breakfast (usual continental type – coffee, tea, cereal, hard boiled eggs, etc.) The room was immaculate, and surprisingly has faux wood flooring. I really don’t like carpet flooring in hotels (just try a black light and you’ll see what I mean). In addition, we were in a pet-free room, and since we both have alergies, that was a…

Service with a smile (5 Star Review)
We stayed here just one night as a resting place on a long journey home. It was quiet, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was more than we anticipated and was a nice surprise. The best part was the thoughtful service of the staff. Check-in and out was fast and friendly. But we were really surprised when they called us about 2 hours down the road after leaving to tell us that we had forgotten something in our room. We were amazed that they were willing to mail it to our home without a huge service fee. This is a place that really cares about serving their customers. Thank you so much!!

Amazing views and excellent customer service. (5 Star Review)
My husband and I have been staying here by ourselves and with our kids for the last year or so. We have stayed several times because we are so delighted with this hotel. Clearly, the building is older but they have done a great job remodeling the lobby office area. We have stayed in 3 different rooms and all of them were clean and spacious. I cannot say enough about the view! We also enjoy the full breakfast included with breakfast. We are a family of 4 and this saves us a ton on vacation. The breakfast is a great variety and my kiddos look forward to making waffles. The breakfast lady, Vicky, is so very kind to my messy and noisy kids 🙂 She always chats with my son and keeps the area very clean. You can tell the people who work here enjoy their job. I absolutely love this…

A little gem (5 Star Review)
Getting down into the town of Astoria, it would seem that people would or should stay at the more main brand hotels, but this one up on the hillside before dipping down into the main strip of the town was just perfect. It had a stunning, unobstructed view of the port/harbour/sea. Even if we weren’t given a sea view room which was no real problem, our room was cute and clean with everything we needed. Yes, it’s not modern slick like a good Travelodge or La Quinta can be, but it was right up there with it’s own character. You can walk out anytime into te back lawn and look at the view. The breakfast was fine, a lovely place to see the morning light as you chomp down. The position of hotel leaves you within a few minutes drive of everything Goonies, particularly the Goonies house…

Great View and Friendly Staff (5 Star Review)
I booked a king room with a view and was extremely pleased. My favourite part of my stay was using the hot tub in the evening; the sun was setting and the sky and water were absolutely breath-taking. It felt like a cozy, scenic getaway and I think it has the best view of anywhere you could stay in Astoria (I passed several, less locally owned hotels that I don’t imagine could measure up). The room had a mini fridge, which included a small freezer space, and a microwave. They’re also an eco-conscious business and my partner really enjoyed the make-your-own waffles included with breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!

Oregon Coastal trip (5 Star Review)
2nd time in past two years we stayed at Crest Hotel. Cheaper than surrounding hotels and free breakfast that was great especially Belgium Waffles. View was great from room and sitting area that over looks Columbia River that joins the Pacific Ocean.

Peace (5 Star Review)
Peace comes in as many ways as there are people. What works for some may not work for others. I’m from the east and my early life vacationed summers in Maine. My adopted father raised geraniums every year down east which meant life for the community and me. Here at this roadside Inn, even the sound of the highway reminds me of route 1, the view of the inlet the Columbia River, the brambles, the low tide, the geraniums all speak of a lost peace found again. This is a standard well maintained motel. They dot the highways of America owned by individuals to provide clean sheets and a place to rest. The Crest offers a selection of breakfast items each day and both indoor and outdoor place to consume. What it offers is more. Not commercial, not slick but peace for new and old souls on…

Best view ever! (5 Star Review)
The Astoria Crest Motel sits on a easily accessible cliff overlooking the village of Astoria. Watching the fireworks from this location was a huge unexpected bonus for us and a lovely surprise. The motel itself has sliding glass doors which open on to a grass knoll and expand the view over Astoria. It was a charming setting, as well as scrupulously clean, friendly, and generously sized. Definitely will stay there again.

A true gem (5 Star Review)
This little motel was a real find on trip advisor. The property was old but well maintained, comfortable and clean. The view from the patio was breathtaking and you could sit in the hot tub and watch the views of the river below. A very pleasant stay with a top staff always available for advice and assistance.

Stopped here as a pit stop after a late flight into Seattle on our way down the Coast. Room was large, clean and the front desk very courteous so late at night. A good kick off point for a great road trip.

Happy Reunion (5 Star Review)
Oasis on the hill. Beautiful view awaits weary travelers. Sunsets dynamic from patio , rooms or Hot Tub. Your choice. Can’t go wrong with any choice. Clean rooms. Excellent breakfast. Staff very helpful and cheerful no matter what time of day you arrive. Have returned and will return again.

Perfect Location (5 Star Review)
The motel is nestled in a wooded area right by the mouth of the Columbia River in Oregon. The structure of the buildings are old-ish and made of wood mainly. Therefore you can hear noses as people walk or talk along the verander. However, we love this place because it is well maintained, clean, the front office very friendly and helpful. The bathroom is also large and updated. The location, over poking the Columber river is fabulous! We could sit at the balcony and watch the sunset , overlooking the motel grounds which is well maintained with seats and a fountain and a hot tub! This truly is a restful place, if you are looking for one. The continental breakfast provided was also of good quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this motel.

Eagles, Sea Lions and Friendly Folks, Oh, My! (5 Star Review)
This updated motel, on a bluff viewing the Columbia River, welcomed 8 of us with warmth. Their breakfast was tasty, but their view was stupendous! Eagles soared over the property; shipping passed before our eyes. The rooms were pristine, comfortable and convenient. We walked down the bluff to the charming neighborhood below. The Sunday farmers’ and artisans’ market in the town center was an unexpected delight as were the views from the Astoria Column, the roaring sea lions in the harbor and the home brewery for Rogue. A great place to kick off a visit to OR!

Great value! (5 Star Review)
Such a beautiful spot overlooking the river. Staff really friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and lovely views. Some nice things to do in the area. Hot tub and waffle machine in the morning made a delightful stay. Would stay again.

Amazing views (5 Star Review)
We loved this motel- inexpensive, so I wasn’t expecting much. But it was terrific- get a view room for sure. Nice rooms, pretty courtyard with seating looking over the river. Really good continental breakfast- much better than most. Coffee, tea, newspaper available in lobby. Friendly staff.

complete remodel but view of Columbia same…wonderful !! (5 Star Review)
Stayed here years ago…Liked the view and price even then. . New owner with great staff. .Helpful with Astoria activities, directions….printed out a list of coffee shops.. complete remodel, very good breakfast..even nice tables and benches outside with colorful fountain. Hot tub available, area clean and comfortable. Rooms microwave and refrigerator and table with chairs..convenient for eating lunch or “take out’ in room. The best part is the view…Columbia River as far as you can see. Attractive price is another reason to stay here…so reasonable as compared to those in Astoria.

Nice, Clean, Quiet and Unbeatable View (5 Star Review)
We’ve stayed here on our last two visits to Astoria and it will be our go-to place from now on. It sits atop a hill at the east end of the city. The rooms are bigger than average with very comfortable beds. The upper rooms have a balcony with an awesome view of the city and the river. Fun to pass the time watching the many goings on along the waterfront. They also have a hot tub and outside patio area. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We’ve stayed in a few other hotels in town which cost much more and did not have near the view. Happy we found our new go-to place, The Astoria Crest Motel.

Great view at a great price! (5 Star Review)
We stay at the Crest several times a year and everytime we come it is better than the last! The owners continue to improve the property. The service, cleanliness beautiful and historic view make this a great value for the price. For those on a budget or just wanting a quiet no frills place to stay in Astoria look no further.

Hidden Gem in Astoria (5 Star Review)
We stayed at Astoria Crest Motel for several reasons and were very happy with the accommodations. First, the location is just 2 miles out of town so it’s quiet. Second, the views cannot be beat. Third, the price for the room was very reasonable. The room was wonderful –plenty of space and it was clean. The water pressure for the shower is the best I’ve experienced in any hotel !! And most of all, the staff, Jana and Vickie were amazing !! Very friendly, funny and helpful. We will stay there next time we’re in town.

Great view Great hotel (5 Star Review)
We had a king bed room which faced the Columbia River. Amazing views from the room, i could have sat in the lounge looking out through the big glass doors all night. Bed was a bit firm for my liking, and more pillows would have been appreciated and made for a more comfortable sleep. Breakfast was good, and staff were attentative and pleasant. Room was very clean, warm and spacious.

Birthday trip (5 Star Review)
Have passed by this great motel many times over the years, but a winter $ discount had us making reservations. We were very pleased with our room; large king size bed, flat screen TV, coffee pot, fridge, microwave, great lighting, table and chairs, outdoor balcony that looks out over the Columbia River with at least a dozen barges tied anchored. The view from our room #205 was incredible. Our room was large and specious, clean and tidy. Although we didn’t use it, they do have a large outdoor hot tub/jacuzzi. They serve a lovely continental breakfast. Even though we were located at the edge of town, we were still within 2 miles of Pier 39 and a great restaurant, Rogue Ale. No complaints from us. We can highly recommend staying at the Crest View Motel!

Great surprise (5 Star Review)
I have stayed in Astoria several times before, and stayed in a lot of hotels. The Astoria Crest hotel was among the most pleasant surprises of my hotel staying career. Amazing view, really comfortable and clean room, and unbelievably affordable rates for what you get. Compares very favorably with the Cannery Pier and Hotel Elliot here in Astoria and as far as I can tell is about half the price of either of those places. I will certainly look to this place on my next trip here.

A real find (5 Star Review)
The Astoria Crest motel has new owners who have updated this traditional roadside motel. The room was sparkling clean, freshly painted, and spacious. It.had a great view of the river and we woke to the pleasant sound of boat traffic. The room had a refrigerator with a freezer and a microwave. The complimentary breakfast was basic but good. For the money, the Astoria Crest motel is a real find. We already have our reservations for another stay.

Perfect Location (5 Star Review)
Close enough to the center of town (maybe a couple miles?) but away from all the crowds and city traffic. Gives you all the basics (clean room, comfy bed, continental breakfast, free wifi) plus a great view on top of a hill! Small self serve laundry available at the end of the complex if you need it (one washer, 2 dryers). Also pet friendly if you plan on bringing your dog. No air conditioning (fan) if you visit during the summer but not sure how hot it gets so close to the ocean and Columbia River. Second floor is probably best for the view and added privacy although you do share the balcony with other guests. However, no elevator if you have issues with stairs. Stayed several days and I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to spend a relaxing get-a way (5 Star Review)
Great motel sitting on a bluff overlooking the Bay near Astoria. We enjoyed the ships moored in the bay and watching the Astoria pilot ship ferry around the bay. The evening lights were very impressive. The motel has a fountain in the courtyard that has colored lights adding to the impressive display. We had a pet room which was very clean, bed was comfortable and service excellent. We had breakfast at the motel, which was average with the chain motels, small but the help made sure your needs were met.. We definitely will go back. Pets allowed only on the ground floor, the courtyard was a major plus.

Adorable hotel with lovely people (5 Star Review)
This hotel is just as charming as it is wonderful, and we could not have been more pleased with this establishment. The location, just a few minutes outside of the downtown area, was fantastic with beautiful views of the city and river. The employees were incredibly friendly (even giving us a recommendation and coupon to the best restaurant in town), and the room was cozy and thoughtfully arranged. Everything was simply great—good beds and pillows, nice amenities, delicious and expansive breakfast, free and strong wifi, etc. After a week-long trip traveling around Oregon and Washington, this was (by far) our favorite hotel. It just had the “happy” little touches that make it memorable, from beautiful hanging flower baskets to an all-day coffee bar with different flavored…

Excellent (5 Star Review)
Just had one night here en route to Seattle. It was a Sunday night so the town was very busy with street markets. The motel unit was a little out of town, but easy to get to and very comfortable. We had a ground floor studio unit which looked across the water to Washington state. The bed was excellent, and the breakfast was one of the best we had on this trip.

Memorable (5 Star Review)
We’re back home from our vacation now and I just had to say something about Astoria Crest Motel. This motel is the one that we have the most memories of of all the hotels/motels that we stayed in on our vacation. We spent three nights there and the only thing we would change is maybe add another night. We had a non pet room up stairs and the view was fantastic with ships coming and going on the Columbia River, just never got tired of watching them. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. you do get some hwy noise so ask for the bldg. furthest from the hwy. The outside common area is clean and not crowded,. at least while we we’re there. Waffles and cold cereals seem to be the main fare. Its an easy drive into town, a couple of minutes where you’ll find plenty of…

The BEST! (5 Star Review)
What a surprise. This motel is located at the top of a cliff overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. The view of the bridge to Washington State, the river and the ocean defies description. It is simply exceptional. This is another Travel Advisor Property of Excellence award winner. This is a property that has been remodeled to meet current day standards and more than meets the mark. It is small and compact, but has everything a visitor needs. The reception office shares space with the Breakfast Room and both are positioned to capture the outstanding view. The Breakfast Room which opens on to a courtyard with additional outside seating, has lovely, stylish glass tables with large comfortable, chairs. Delightful (5 Star Review)
Wonderful location with a great view. Beds are comfy, great people at the front desk and the staff is gracious and above helpful. It was so nice to lay in bed and be able to look out at the Columbia River with the ships with their lights on with the bridge in the distant background. Stunning. We loved the quaint look and vibe. Met a super great and happy couple here as well. He couldn’t stop praising the location and his favorite place to stay. That to me speaks volumes.

Great accommodations for wheelchair users (5 Star Review)
Finding a hotel that is friendly for wheelchair or walker users can be a challenge. This property went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and user friendly. We were in room 105 which is designated as a “handicapped” room. This room was very spacious and had a hardwood composite floor, making walker maneuverability very easy. The bathroom was spacious with lots of counter space. The tub had a portable shower seat making transfer into the tub easy. The shower hose was long enough to use from a seated position. If I had one suggestion it would be to have a wheelchair height toilet as the one in the room was very low, even for a non-disabled person. The staff provided an extension seat that was very helpful. A refrigerator and microwave in the room were nice. Bed was very…

Nice place outside of town (5 Star Review)
This is a nice older motel that is just outside of town that is well kept. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It is very clean and has the typical breakfast. The staff was very friendly. The view from most rooms are of the river.

Friendly helpful staff (5 Star Review)
Saturday night and no where to stay is how we ended up at the delightful place. Miranda at the front desk held our room until we got to the motel. Room was compact and functional. We didn’t have a room with view but ate their continental breakfast on the patio that had an awesome panoramic view of the Columbia river and the Washington mountains on the other side. Everyone on the staff was so friendly and helpful.

As advertised. (5 Star Review)
View and room were nice. Who knew we would spend so much time watching ships from our balcony? Great access to the Astoria Riverwalk (via bicycle). Staff very nice. clean room. exceptionally quiet. Breakfast was decent. I give it a 5 rating keeping in mind that this is a very basic place to stay.

Love the view (5 Star Review)
A little out of town AND right on the Columbia River. It was easy to find. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the recently remodeled rooms were comfortable. Ask for a room off the street. The overlook of the river is very enjoyable. If there no view from your room, the lounge in the office has an excellent view.

Quality with Value (5 Star Review)
This motel is situated quite a way out of town but there’s little to see in Astoria anyway other than the walk along the harbour. Very pleasant views across the harbour from our second floor room. Room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast in the morning.

East Astoria Gem (5 Star Review)
Motel is on the East end of town, away from downtown and any possible traffic or noise. Older building, as evidenced by their black-and-white photos of yesteryear. WHAT A VIEW! Fabulous views of the river and the bridge. Hotel is perched upon a hill and is also a historical place – one of the campsites of Lewis & Clark. Motel has an updated lobby facing a fountain and hottub. Probably could grill on the patio, too. Comfortable seating area facing a fireplace inside. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate available at all times. Early evening front desk person very kind and personable. Rooms are nicely appointed, outside walkways and covered porches. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Sliding glass doors with screens onto the patio. Refrigerator & microwave in room. Wi-Fi available, but…

Perfect Gem! (5 Star Review)
This place has it all: Great price, spotless cleanliness, pet friendly, comfortable beds, “wood” (Pergo) flooring, extremely kind front desk, outdoor jacuzzi, free WiFi, convenient parking and SWEEPING, PANORAMIC VIEWS!!!! Our Puppy Suite (Room 124) has a sliding glass door out to a green grass lawn, cozy couch seating, large “mini” fridge. We are so pleased with the bang for the buck, all wrapped in a scenic and comfortable package. We even ordered pizza delivery for a cozy, rainy night in.

Niiiiiiice! (5 Star Review)
Perched on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River, it’s conveniently located just east of downtown. My room was clean and had a refrigerator and television. Besides a killer view, the site has a spa, picnic area, pet area, laundry, ice machine, and offers a continental breakfast. Staff was great. A damage deposit is required and refunded after an inspection at checkout. The only downside was being next to the main highway as the sirens of a few passing emergency vehicles were annoying.

A Real Gem! (5 Star Review)
This is an updated 60’s motor inn. The young woman at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. I had a first floor view room. I watched the sunset for three hours. My own private view. The room was modern and clean and the grounds were well groomed. It was one of the favorite places I have stayed.

Best kept secret in Astoria (5 Star Review)
This motel is a gem! Incredible view, friendly and wonderful staff, continental breakfast and easy access to Astoria attractions. Stayed here for the Crab and Wine festival with good friends and the bus to the event stop at the driveway to the property. I would highly recommend it to friends and family.

Everything in a quiet restful stay with a view (5 Star Review)
Although Astoria offers much in the way of food and scenic entertainment, we needed a restful place to stay for the night. We stayed the night away from traffic and noises just outside of Astoria, we were not disappointed, views of the bridge and ships at anchor were great. Our room was well sized, quiet, breakfast was adequate and available @ 6:00 a.m., allowing us to travel to our next destination in this beautiful port of the country

Such a lovely surprise! (5 Star Review)
Crest Motel was a wonderful surprise. I booked here because of the overall positive reviews and I was not disappointed. We got a room on the second floor with the most amazing view! The room was neat, clean, and, while not fancy, perfect for our needs. Tip: On the discount websites it says the double queen room has one bed, but the picture shows two. It is indeed two beds. Book away for a weekend with the girls. Downtown bars are just a short cab ride so put your car keys away and get a little tipsy out on the town.

Scenic Views (5 Star Review)
The view from our room of the Columbia River, Astoria, the bridge, and the ships was amazing. Our first floor king bedroom was recently remodeled and very clean. Everything worked perfectly. The only downside was our room being next to the hot tub and having to listen to people converse over the roar of the whirlpool. Everyone at the front desk was very nice and helpful, as was the cleaning staff. We usually camp at Fort Stevens when we visit Astoria, but this was a pretty nice change of pace and I’m sure we’ll be back.

Tight and cozy (5 Star Review)
Overall our stay was very pleasant here. I do suggest that if you like your space sleeping you get a two queen, we didn’t mind snuggling all night. It had great views even though it was a little foggy, we arrived late evening and the girl who checked us in was very nice. We had just enough time to enjoy the hot tub before turning in. Bed was comfortable and probably the best rest we had the whole trip. This is definitely our go to spot for Astoria.

Nice Memories (5 Star Review)
I stayed in this little motel a couple of weeks ago and still have good thoughts about our stay there. Weather was beautiful, warm and sunny while Portland was having a snow storm! This is one of those older (“60’s”?) style motels that’s been upgraded and renovated, so it’s got a bit of that funky feel to it. But, it’s great. Sits on a bluff overlooking the bay. Beautiful view from balcony and room. Room is clean, bed is comfy and morning continental breakfast is just fine. Desk and cleaning staff are very nice and definitely go out of their way to assist and are happy to do so. We would definitely return.

Stunning views with wonderful service! (5 Star Review)
My husband and I spent one night here and just loved it. Our check in experience was so pleasant, the gentleman that helped us was so friendly and helpful, he even asked us if we needed any help finding a place to have dinner. We took his offer for help and it was a delicious, wonderful suggestion! The views are absolutely beautiful and I doubt you could beat them anywhere else. They’re beginning to renovate the rooms and we were lucky enough to stay in one of the first pet friendly ones to be done! The room was lovely, clean and plenty of space for the two of us and our dog. Their continental breakfast was wonderful, so many choices and so yummy! Overall we were so impressed and we can’t wait to go back!

Excellent place – grand breakfast (5 Star Review)
Welcomed with a smile. Sited 2 miles east of the main centre, we were on bikes so ordering taxis for a trip downtown was no trouble and only 11 dollars each way. Rooms functional and comfy Breakfast excellent, waffles, bagels, yoghurt in a room overlooking the Columbia River. However Key Lime Yoghurt is just wrong and it tasted as bad as it looked!! Thoroughly recommended overnight stop

Marvelous! (5 Star Review)
Stayed 9/10-14/2015. All the positives I’d read regarding new management and renovations were true. Most rooms/suites are yet to be fully upgraded, but my suite was immaculate, staff couldn’t be friendlier. Will definitely return.

What a great view! (5 Star Review)
If you stay here, which I highly recommend, try to get room on second floor. The view is beautiful, sunsets are fabulous.. You can set on the balcony of your room, have a drink and relax. Dog friendly also in the rooms on bottom floor.. Clean and comfortable.. With a continental breakfast.

Great view of river and bridge (5 Star Review)
Lovely big room, clean with nice towels, fridge, microwave and coffee maker, walls a bit thin, could hear neighbours early in morning. Sliding door led out to grassy seating area overlooking the river and bridge, fantastic sunset! Good breakfast, good value for money. Staff friendly and helpful.

A Wonderful Spot (5 Star Review)
What a hidden gem!! The Astoria Crest Motel is a wonderful place to stay at if you are in the Astoria area. It’s a little bit out of downtown, but the tranquility, view, friendly staff and spacious rooms are worth the extra distance. We stayed in room 105, which is on the first level with a beautiful view of the Columbia River. Our patio door opened up to a beautiful lawn area with a gorgeous fountain and picnic tables surrounding it. We were traveling with our dog and this place is so dog friendly with a lot of grass areas for walking him. I would highly recommmend the Astoria Crest Motel any time that you are in the area.

Astoria Crest (5 Star Review)
Stayed in a 2 queen, non view room. Big room, lots of space. Very comfy and very clean. Fan in the room was great as Astoria was unseasonably warm. Easy online booking, great front desk staff too. Left before breakfast but the coffee was ready! Will definately be back!

View was the best, but everything else was good, too. (5 Star Review)
As everyone mentioned, the view is spectacular, and the weather was perfect at the time. The room was clean and looked fresh, and the people checking us in were nice, the bathroom was spacious. All good. Decent breakfast the next day with a selection of yogurts, cereal, English muffin and a waffle maker. Would absolutely stay again and would recommend to friends.

Nice clean budget minded very welcoming staff. Columbia river view from shared balcony outstanding. Lots of ship traffic. Nice hot tub to have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. Comfy firm beds, just the way I like them. Nice Continental breakfast in the morning always a nice touch.

Great place to stay with an awesome view of the Columbia (5 Star Review)
I booked through Trip Advisor/Expedia, and I was more than pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The hosts/staff are very nice, the place is very clean, and the location is wonderful. It is about a mile east of the town, which suited us just fine. You could not walk to restaurants from there, but we did not need to do that. They are updating room-by-room, and our room had been completely re-done. We wanted to stay one more night and we had to move rooms, but that was easily accomplished by rolling our bags down the sidewalk to the other room. I did not go to breakfast, but my husband brought me coffee which was reasonably good. They had the new slightly taller refrigerator that has an actual little freezer compartment in it where I was able to put four large icey-blocks,…

Wonderful Stay (5 Star Review)
Was only there over night, July 25, 2014 the staff were friendly and professional, the room was clean and smelled fresh, the view of the Columbia River was beautiful, only issue and a minor one, is I am a smoker and there were no seating in the designated area, it would of been perfect if I could of had my am coffee and smoke sitting in a chair looking at the view, I understand they are still upgrading the units, what they have done so far is awesome, highly recommended, peaceful and quiet

Great place, friendly staff (5 Star Review)
My boyfriend, his parent’s and I were traveling thru Astoria the other night. We stayed at the Crest and it was the best place we’ve stayed at so far. The view is spectacular, the price is right, and I especially loved visiting with the laundry girl and the front desk guy.

Pleasant stop (5 Star Review)
I read all the reviews and since there were new owners and LOW prices with pets I thought I’d give it a try. Great welcome at the desk, beautiful view and close to Safeway. A microwave and fridge saved us another dinner out. Huge king room nicely appointed, strong wifi, comfy bed. There’s a nice patio area and apparently the hot tub is a good temperature, both were enjoyed by other guests. I’d stay here again and I recommend you give it a try!

great choice (5 Star Review)
We were so fortunate to happen to stay here during their regatta festival weekend! We had room 11 and had a wonderful view of the water. We also got to see the fireworks that night from the shared patio that is just outside each ground floor! The place has yesteryear charm just the way we like it. The shore is a walk away from stairs that take you to the water. Our room was huge! It had a separate area for the small frig and microwave and the sink was outside of the bathroom area. We had a sofa and upholstered chair as well as a table and 2 chairs as well as a desk and chair. There was ample room for my husbands knee scooter as well. There was a hot tub in a small pavilion which I didn’t use but it looked clean. The were large glass sliding doors facing the water so…

What a view! Book it! (5 Star Review)
Amazing view you’d expect from a jillion-dollar-a-night resort. Clean, comfortable, no frills, no ills. We seemed to be the only ones there on a mid-week, high season night, making it even nicer. Took a horseback ride on the beach the next day; recommend that, as well.

Good value, great view (5 Star Review)
We were expecting to have to pay a premium for such a nice view of the estuary, but their rate was great, room clean, wifi worked well, and management nice. Close to highway, but without the noise. Just what you need when passing through. This last sentence is to fill up the space to reach the Tripadvisor 200 character minimum review length (what else do you need to know about a motel?).

Clean, comfortable, and dogs stay free! (5 Star Review)
When we are traveling we have two requirements for a hotel: locally owned and dog friendly. Generally, we can find a good price at a nice hotel and then they top it off with a ridiculously high dog fee. Not here–not only did they give us an upgrade to a ‘room with a view’ but they don’t charge for pets. Already the price is affordable, but add in (or subtract) 0 pet charge and the place is PERFECT. It has everything that you need: clean room, hot tub, comfy bed, GREAT VIEW, and out of town. If you like to spend more money, go ahead, but this is perfect for the traveler who needs a room and some money left in their pocket. P.S. Great dog yeard and not right next to the road. The dogs give it all paws up!

Clean, Affordable and excellent management! (5 Star Review)
We visited Astoria December 21-23, 2013. The Crest motel was our first overnight stop after travelling from Vancouver, Canada. I cannot say enough on how wonderful the management lady was. We took her advice on local restaurants and entertainment and had the best time ever! They offered a continental breakfast, there was a hot tub and the rooms were not only super clean but super affordable too. Both my fiancé and I have travelled alot and I have never felt so at home in a motel that I would write a review until now. I’ve stayed in fancy resorts and spent a bundle but to me what makes a place special is having management that genuinely care about their guests and we found that here 🙂 Thank you Crest Motel – we’ll be back!

Great price in a rustic motel (5 Star Review)
Tremendous value in an older motel with great views. Dog friendly. Very short drive into Astoria. Stayed in room 8, very small but great deck!! Staff and owners very friendly and helpful. This was our third stay at this motel and has always met our needs.

Excellent stay in a cozy motel (5 Star Review)
This is a small motel located right along the rivers edge. Great views of the Columbia. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. We were upgraded to a view room at no cost. The woman at the front desk was friendly and very helpful with information on things to do and places to eat. Hot tub was clean. Fountain in the courtyard was pretty during the day and beustiful lit up at night. Breakfast was good (muffins, coffee, and juice). Will definitely be back!

A real gem – especially for Lewis and Clark history fans (5 Star Review)
This is a wonderful alternative to the cookie cutter chain motel. Not only is it a charming motel, but it is on a historically significant site. First – our room was spacious, with all the amenities – fridge, microwave, table and chairs and desk space. The bathroom is large with a roomy vanity. The entire suite is clean and freshly painted. Obviously, someone cares. We had a sliding door that opened out onto an area with tables, a fountain and an over look of the Columbia River – with the ships and boats in the harbor. Wonderful! The hot tub was close, but we did’t take advantage of this added bonus. There is a plaque with details of Lewis and Clark and their exploration on the river overlook – they actually camped here at this point on the river – not long, but…

No reservation, Dropped in, but I will definitely plan to stay here again (5 Star Review)
We drove to Astoria on our trip north, with no reservations but just a plan of wait and see what we can find and passed by several on the (noisy)highway motels in town, two pricey hotels and were surprised to find Crest Motel north of town, surrounded by lush trees and a gorgeous view of the River from our room. We stayed because the rate was reasonable. The room is very large, with large sliding patio door and deck, to look out and enjoy the river. The flowers blooming provide a sweet fragrance. I couldn’t have done a better job if I had tried to plan this.

Love this place, always go back (5 Star Review)
This is an old fasioned motel with a view to die for. It is quiet, out of the way, a few minutes only to wonderful downtown Astoria and all it has to offer. The rooms are vintage, comfortable but not a lot of bells and whistles. It’s that view and the romance that we love so much. The price, considering what that view could cost is down-right cheap. This may not be the place for everyone, as there are newer and fancier places downtown, but you should give it a try knowing what it is not. What it is is a great place to stay!
Mike D – Monmouth, Oregon

You can’t beat the view from here! (5 Star Review)
The hotel is a little older and dated, but in good shape. The room was clean and tidy when we checked in. The biggest surprise was opening the blinds and being knocked out by the view. Astoria, the Columbia, the Astoria-Megler bridge, all in view like a postcard. And then we got the treat of one of the most amazing sunsets I’ ve ever seen. A great value, we’ll be staying here again in November!
Michele B – Orange County, California

Nice, very clean older motel. The views of Columbia River and boat traffic is incredible! (5 Star Review)
Astoria is celebrating its 200th Anniversary and there are many things related to that celebration to do. There’s a waterfront trolley, older interesting building, music, great restaurants and 200 years of History

We were very pleased with the motel and the lovely views (5 Star Review)
My boyfriend and I were on a vacation and picked the Crest Motel from a AAA lists. The prices are reasonable. The rooms were very clean and large. The decor is vintage 60s and reminded me of family vacations I took as a child. The views of the river were enchanting. There was a patio with a fireplace outside and a hot tube available. We watched the large ships come down the river along with a lovely sunset. I will stay here again when we go back to Oregon.

Comfortable bed, great view (5 Star Review)
We stayed in Room 45. Very quiet, lovely view of the Columbia, pleasant management. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a comfortable motel/hotel bed, so this was a nice surprise. Rooms are a little dated, but we found the whole place charming. Really wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will be back!

The view of early morning fog was awesome as well as the evening sunsets over the bay!!! (5 Star Review)
Stayed #20- two nights 2/7-2/8 and was a really nice and clean place. Step out back door and there’s the Columbia River with a view of the bay bridge that connects Oregon and Washington. Early morning and early evening watched the big ships go by. The early morning fog was awesome as well as the evening sunsets!!! Good size room w/2 queen beds and sofa bed w/ micro/fridge and very clean. Comfortable firm beds. The sink did backup to tub on 2nd day. On east side of town back from road and very quiet. Dog friendly and free… ;-} This is a great location. A+++ :-}

Breathtaking view, quiet, great value, and wonderful owners! (5 Star Review)
The only reason that this does not get 5’s all around, is that the hotel is a little older, that said…. This place is wonderful, and an excellent value! Get a view room; located on a bluff, this motel has a breath taking view, much better than most of the spendy ones. The rooms are clean, and serene. They were also great for our 2 yr old, (the doors can’t easily be opened like the places we stayed in Hawaii) The owners are very friendly, and even gave us a hoodie to use when my husband forgot to bring one. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! (5 Star Review)
Cant say enough good about this place ! very clean comfortable and wow what a view !!!! Price is very reasonable with the rest of astoria and in my opinion has a much better vantage point than the more expensive 300 plus a night hotels! Our room was very spacious was more like staying in an apartment than a hotel ! the view impecable! the only thing was there was no a/c in the room and it was a little warm that week ,no big deal. I will definetely return and recommend it to all friends and family who choose to visit

Great value, basic but nicely retro, we got what we paid for and a bit more. (5 Star Review)
Booked a double, non-view, AAA-discounted room for 28-July. Hotel is right on the highway into town (but we were able to keep our bathroom window open and didn’t notice the noise), and is a classic roadside motel that you might expect to find on Route 66. Though older, it is immaculately kept up and is therefore a wonderful place to stay, especially for those of us with memories of staying in such places growing up in the 50’s and 60’s. Property is on a cliff overlooking the Columbia river – our host upgraded us to a view room for no extra charge “because we’re not that busy tonite”. Nice. Basic continental breakfast included in the price of the room (orange juice, coffee/tea, Costco muffins). Room was very clean – bathroom spotless – pretty much your basic motel room with…

Spectacular view, good value (5 Star Review)
We spent two nights in a large room with a very good king bed and huge windows looking out on the Columbia River, where we could see all the shipping action. There was also a balcony with chairs, but the wind was too cold for us to enjoy it. During the summer, it would be great. The room included a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and plenty of space for the table and chairs. The reasonable price included a basic continental breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Loved it (5 Star Review)
My wife and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it. The manager was great. We got room #7 which is kind of all by itself. We asked the manager for info about the Goonies sites and she quickly gave me a map, circled all the sites and gave me lots of great info. We’re going back next summer and staying there again. Loved the view during sunset too.

Great budget bargain (5 Star Review)
This is an older motel on a bluff east of town, with a beautiful view down to the estuary. Not luxurious by any means, but clean, tidy, and friendly personnel. Hard to spend a hundred bucks for even the best view room. And pet-friendly, with no surcharge. I’ve stayed there half a dozen times.

Home Sweet Home (5 Star Review)
Crest Motel has become my home away from home! The staff are the sweetest people and eager to make a stay as comfortable as possible. The view is breathtaking and I hear almost no road noise when I stay here. The continental breakfast is generous and tasty with many choices. My only negative comment would be the shower in my room: because the environment is humid, there is some mildew, but the shower mat provided is immaculate, which lessens the gross factor! The linens provided are clean and fresh-smelling; the bed is comfy; furniture is clean, and the balcony is large enough to sit or stand and enjoy the glorious view of water, tall pines and wild birds. I look forward to this month’s visit!

Nice Experience (5 Star Review)
We have been to Astoria many times but this was our first time at the Crest, a pleasant experience, wish we had stayed longer. Even though the motel is old you get a ‘fresh’ impression because it’s clean and well kept. The view is awesome and the garden was a treat! We’re definately coming back!

We have been going here for 20 years now,We go two to three times a year. The rooms have always been very clean and look like theyhave just been painted everytime we go. It has a great view and the folks that run it is the best I have ever seen. We travel a lot and this is one of the best.I love to set and watch the ships go by. Anything you need the staff is always there to help you in anyway they can. If you are not happy here then you will not be happy any place

We’ll be back (5 Star Review)
The Crest was a wonderful place to stay. We spent three nights there and it was all a good experience. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet with a spectacular panoramic view of beautiful scenery whether you’re in your room, in the hot tub , sitting by the fountain or just walking the grounds. Staff service was above and beyond accomodating and friendly. Another plus is that the setting is natural and close enough to downtown to be convenient yet not surrounded by parking lots and buildings. Reasonable rates. We’re looking forward to our next stay there.

Beautiful location (5 Star Review)
This motel is not new but it certainly is the place to stay in Astoia because of the view. Our room was a suite and it was quite large. We had a great view of the city and the river. There’s a little outdoor patio area that also overlooks the river. Management was helpful and friendly and seemed to take great pride in their place. If I ever go back to Astoria I would bypass the newer motels and hotels and stay here!

An Awesome New Years Day Weekend (5 Star Review)
We decided to get out of town for New Years weekend, and what a find the Crest turned out to be. Affordable, spectacular views, and the room we stayed in had a mini-fridge and couch, showtime in every room, what more could you ask for? And it’s only a short walk or drive to downtown. Amazing pizza is also about a 2 minute drive from the Crest. Definitely going back soon.

Dog-friendly, beautiful view, super nice people! (5 Star Review)
I love the Crest.! As a dog owner I know first-hand how unwelcoming the world of vacation lodging can be. Not so at the Crest! I was a woman travelling alone with a Border Collie, and actually called at the last minute in high summer to switch hotels from a place where I felt unsafe. They were so nice and LOVED DOGS that they gained my devotion. The desk clerk talked alot about her “Grand Dogs” and I knew a kindred spirit when I met one. They let me leave my trained dog crated in my room for a few hours to see a few museums ( a real rarity among hotels and motels), and promised to take him out if there was a fire (I’m a very worried dog ma). On a non-dog note, the room was clean and I was totally happy. Sitting with my best dog in an Adirondack chair watching the river go by…
